Having a portrait commissioned is an important decison and at the same time an emotional one, and Daniel will guide you step by step through the process, to make it as enjoyable as possible. Your finished painting will be a unique work of art for you and your family to treasure.<\/p>

Daniel will arrange an initial meeting with you to discuss the type of painting you would like, during which ideas about pose and colouring will be discussed. During this initial meeting\u00a0 the options regarding available mediums, be it painting, drawing or pastel will also be discussed. The actual size of the finished work would also be discussed at this time, including any future framing requirements. The pricing of your portrait will then be agreed, dependant on the size of the painting, the number of sitters, and type of pose – whether head and shoulders, 3\/4 length or full figure.\u00a0<\/span>There will then follow a session for sketches if possible and time allows, and the taking of reference photographs. In all this should take no more than 1-2 hours.<\/p>

Daniel will then back at his studio prepare some preliminary ideas, addressing pose, composition, and overall colouring. He will then forward to you several images either by email or post for a decision on the final pose and\u00a0 image to be used. Following this Daniel will start your portrait back in his studio and depending on the numbers of people depicted and size of canvas, your painting will be ready for collection or delivery in 2-3 months. There will not normally be any need for further meetings once a final decision has been made, but do not hesitate to contact the artist if you have any queries.<\/p>

Although prices vary depending on size, number of sitters, medium etc. as a guide, prices for an oil painting,\u00a0 head and shoulders start from \u00a3550 and for a pencil drawing \u00a3250. A 50% deposit will be required at the initial meeting.
